Everything Communication and Therapy

Welcome!

Welcome fellow SLPs, students, families, and anyone who is interested in this SLP’s perspective.

SLPs typically have a lot to say. We think deeply and expansively and when we get together in the same room, it’s hard to get us to stop talking! That definitely goes for me. Though I’m not a big fan of small talk, tempt me with a juicy topic on the brain or ethics and it’s hard to shut me up. I also love to write, although I could happily never write anything specific for an insurance audience ever again!

My intention for this blog is to be a window into the thought processes and subjective perspective of one speech language pathologist, me, Calina. It will be so subjective that one should not assume that the other clinicians that work for LSLS necessarily think or feel the same way. It’s also a snapshot of my perspective at the time I post. I look forward to learning, changing, and growing. I assume my writing will reflect my changing knowledge base and opinions.

I look forward to writing and connecting ideas, and hopefully by sharing and connecting with you we can make a little more sense out of what communication, and being a clinician means.

Thanks for reading!
